Governors @ Field Court Junior Academy

The Governing body of the Field Court Junior Academy are ultimately responsible for the way in which the School conducts its business and the results it achieves.  We have a strong governing body comprising of parents, staff and community governors.  We bring a wide range of skills and experiences to the role which we use effectively to carry out our responsibilities.

Sarah Badham - I am a community governor living in Quedgeley since 2001. Three of my nieces and nephews have been to the school with my youngest just about to finish yr6. They have all been so happy here and I think it is a real privilege to be part of the school! When I am not being a governor I divide my time between a busy job, church activities and lots of holidays.

Ellie Shaikh - I have been a governor at the school since 2008.  I have 2 sons who both came through Field Court Juniors.  I am a parent governor, during my time as a governor I held the role of Chair of Governors for almost 4 years and now I am the Vice Chair of Governors.  I work for Hewlett Packard and my hobbies include, reading, Swimming and spending time with my family.

Andy Smith - I joined the governors at FCJS in 2009, as a community governor and I am now the Chair of the Finance & Personnel Committee. My two daughters have both been pupils at Field Court, with Adele now in Year 4. Andy is a Chartered Surveyor working for Gardiner & Theobald and tries to stop getting old by cycling.

Julia Brown - I have been on the school’s governing body since 2011 and I have been the  chair of the Self Evaluation committee for the last two years. I am a staff governor and my 2 sons have been pupils at the school.  I am in school daily as a mid-day supervisor and a Teaching Assistant. I enjoy crafting and sewing, as well as spending time with my family and walking our dogs.

Liz Frisby - I have been a governor at the school since 2009.  I was formerly a community governor and have 2 girls, one who came through Field Court Juniors and is currently at Secondary school and one in year 5 at FCJS .  I have worked at the school as a Teaching Assistant and a Pastoral Support Worker since 2010 and I am currently a Staff Governor.  I have many hobbies include watching football and tennis, shopping, reading and spending time with my family.

Neil James - I have been a governor at the school since 2013 and I am a community governor.  I have developed my career within the hotel industry over the last 18 years and work with one of the global chains.  My hobbies include baking, spending time with friends and family, travelling and long walks with my two dogs.  My bucket list of things to experience and places to see continually grows; so any suggestions are always welcomed!

Fiona Thompson - I have been a governor at Field Court Junior Academy since September 2015. I have 2 sons aged 12 and 9. My youngest son is currently in Year 4 at Field Court. I work as a Staff Nurse for the NHS at Gloucester Royal Hospital in the Trauma and Orthopaedic department. My hobbies include walking, swimming and music, particularly concerts and festivals.

Steve McFadden – I am one of the newest parent governors at Field Court Junior Academy, having joined in 2015. I have a son in year 4 and my younger son attends the infants and will hopefully join his older brother in the Juniors in the next couple of years. I sit on the Finance and Personnel committee, focussing on the financial and staffing side of governance. I work for a Global Insurance Company, now in my 20thyear, as an Operational Excellence Consultant, so bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the governing body. My hobbies include cycling, country walks and spending time with my family – and the occasional extreme challenge to raise money for charity!

Richard Middleton - I became staff governor in 2014. I am a very civic minded individual, so when the opportunity came up to become a staff governor, I knew it would be a role that I would both enjoy and excel at; hence why I applied. I have been working at Field Court as a full time teacher for  two years now. I started as a class teacher, but have recently started a new role as a PE specialist, Before becoming a teacher , I worked in many different trades including: head chef in a pub, a landscape gardener as well as working for the National Trust, to name but a few. I am relishing the opportunity to help Field Court Junior Academy continue on its outstanding journey.

Ollie Moseley - I have been a governor at the school since 2015.  I am a parent governor and have 1 son who is a pupil within the school.  I sit on the Personnel and finance committee.  I have worked in food retail management since the age of 21 and my hobbies include cycling, going to the gym and spending time with my family.

Jonathan Wood - I have been a parent governor since the beginning of 2017 and have a daughter in year 4. I work as the Head of IT Services at a Gloucestershire secondary school, and as such, have a particular interest in supporting the development and use of technology at Field Court Juniors.
