Community Family Worker @ FCJA

My name is Ann Morris, and I am the Community Family Worker for Field Court Junior Academy.  I am part of the pastoral team and am based in The Tree House, alongside the Learning Support Worker and SENCo

When trying to explain my role to the children, I simply say, that my job is to help ensure the children are happy and safe.  I support our children and their families too.

I have a wealth of knowledge, training and experience which may be able to help in situations which may arise and cause undue stress and upset.  I am always willing to listen, and sometimes, just "offloading" to someone who is not involved, helps to make you feel better, and ready to tackle the next challenge!

I can give emotional and practical help and advice to families that are having long or short-term difficulties.  The support I provide varies depending on the particular needs of the family, providing the right type and level of support.

I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and we can meet in school, or if easier, I can do a home visit and meet you at your house.

Here is some feedback from previous parents who have received support from me:-

"You have been a amazing support to me and my child over the last few years. From the bottom of my heart I can't thank you enough, for all you have done to support us. You are an incredible person, and I feel very lucky to have received your guidance."

"You have had great patience, during my emotional moments, and time of tears, when thing have been difficult. Without you, my child would not have achieved the things he has, through the extra support he has received. I will forever be grateful, for all you have done.  Thank you"

"Thank you so much for supporting and encouraging my child in the Tree House."

"Thank you for being so amazing!  You have given such time and effort to my child and to us as a family.  You got us through such difficult times, and we will never forget that."

"You have given my child the time and help she needed, and because of that she has grown so much in confidence, self belief and determination.  You really have been such an important and special part of our lives. Thank you!"
